The department was established based on the educational missions: educational practice focusing on the field training with ‘health’ motif and development of high skilled manpower. It aims to train superior experts contributing to the welfare of children, adolescents, adults, and elderly through researching scientific studies regarding human development, children’s psychology and nurturing, family relations, child and family counseling, social welfare as well as training in practical abilities. After completing the courses assigned, students may work as social workers in social welfare institutes, nursery teachers in the kindergartens, and social welfare specialists after passing the civil service examination.
