The USW International College provides various educational programs aimed at fostering 21st Century, creative professionals with global communication skills and problem solving capabilities.

The educational program at International College consists of two main areas: one is a required foreign language education for Korean students and another is Korean language/Korean culture and major education for foreign students. All Korean students during their first year at the University of Suwon are required to take the courses English as a Second Language (ESL) and the Chinese as a Second Language (CSL), which are offered by the International College. Foreign students from all over the world are likewise provided with intensive education on Korean language and Korean culture as well as interdisciplinary studies for a year at the International College. From their second year, they choose a program/ field of study and belong to a specific Department. Foreign students may also pursue the Global Entrepreneurship Program, which is offered by the International College. In the Global Entrepreneurship Program, students receive a specialized education to develop 21st Century, innovative start-up businesses and to create new business possibilities and opportunities to establish their own ventures.

If a student is admitted to Suwon University’s College of Global Talent – Global Liberal Studies, the following options apply:

1. When choosing a foreign language track:
The student will remain in the Global Liberal Studies program and select a major in either International Management or Global Culture and Media.

2. When choosing the Korean language track:
The student may transfer to any department at Suwon University except the Department of Nursing.
